3D MOVIE ON HOME TV IS IT THE SAME AS TRUE DIGITAL IN CINEMAS?

I saw my bloody valentine in a 3d cinema and was really impressed with the effect, so much better than what i saw in the past, i noticed in the manual that came with my samsung lcd tv that it supports 3d,

so my question is the dvd on sale in my local video store says 3d on the box but is it the same as the 3d i saw in the cinema a few months ago, and is it possible to to have the same effect on your telly at home

Most people don't have a 3d television and the shutter glasses that go with it that you have to plug in, shutter glasses require electricity to work. Plus you usally need a convertor box also. I had the old field sequencial 3d convertor box back several years ago that work with the old tube television. I worked really well but content for it was very limited and still is. So anyway since most people don't have the equitment to use shutter glasses it is probably just the blue and red or blue and yellow 3d format because all you need to use it is a color television.

Polarized 3d that they use in the cinemas can not be done with regular televisions or monitors, they are made to only send out one light wave. Polarized 3d must send out two different light waves, one for the left eye and one for the right. So they must resort to the red and blue format for television because that is the only format that will work on all televisions, unless your television is black and white.3D MOVIE ON HOME TV IS IT THE SAME AS TRUE DIGITAL IN CINEMAS?
No, the 3D for your TV requires a separate 3D decoder box. The movie can be encoded in 3D but it is not the same thing.

The 3D box will allow everything connected to the TV to appear 3D. You have to wear a special set of goggles and the viewing angles are significantly cut down. The goggles also cost about $200.00 a piece. I saw this technology demoed and wasn't impressed, I took my goggles off and got a massive headache.
